About the author

My hope is that the truths discussed here will serve as coaster for our hearts… a landing place we’ve been longing for.

I’m married to Josh, my college sweetheart. He is steadfast, yet adventurous. He’s also a banker by day and a home project person in his free time, a never-a-dull-moment mix of George Bailey and Chip Gaines.

Two of our biggest joys are our son, Hunter and our daughter, Paisley. A snapshot of our day often entails a welcomed collage of superheroes, tea parties, pirates and pixie dust. We love to laugh hard, dance hard and sing at the top of our lungs around the house to “The Table” by Chris Tomlin. This is my Team Strong.

Josh and I feel most problems could be solved with a front porch and a glass of iced tea. Ironically, with our southern, small-town roots and farmhouse-loving hearts, we lived a good chunk of our marriage in a condo at what has been documented as the busiest intersection in the United States. We still live in the city, and we love it. And we’re thrilled as we get the chance to serve together at Houston’s First Baptist Church.

Lastly, but most importantly, I make a lot of mistakes. I’m not perfect; I’m a gracebearer. Which means I walk around with a gift I definitely don’t deserve, but I own it. Because of all He’s done for me. And I want you to know you can bear it, too.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9, NIV

Let's chat underneath those white lights.

Preoccupied by the Best, Courtney
